Unpaid carers are often so busy caring for someone who is ill or disabled that they forget to look after themseves,
But this year's Carers Week theme "A Life of My Own" highlights the fact that carers need rest, time to think, time to do things they enjoy and look after their own health, just like everyone else.
The Carers' Hub Lambeth will have organised two events during Carers Week that will help carers consider what would help them to take more time for themselves.
Caring for Carers' Day takes place at Woodlawns, 16 Leigham Court Road in Streatham on Tuesday, June 15, 11am - 4pm
As well as refreshments, lunch and a cream tea, there will be massage, reflexology, acupuncture sessions, health checks, a dance performance by MIA and singing with Natural Voices.
2nd Carers' Forum takes place at Lambeth ACCORD, 336 Brixton Road, London, SW9 7AA, Friday, June 18, 11am-2pm
There will be speakers and information about other organisations which could be helpful to unpaid carers.
The day will end with a buffet lunch and a chance to meet up with friends and take a look around the information stalls.
